lyrics
I blame the Baptists
Our fathers and the law
For what's become of you
Pure consequence and maybe the drugs but most of all
I feel I could have been
A little softer then
When I knew that you needed it
There was a motorcade
And the spirit of the Lord
Had come to cast it out
Through the strange gyrations of the choir boys
But they could not make me believe
That you could ever not need what you need
But oh, the sun was shining
All the stars were blue and white
All the good old boys are crying
It must be the fourth of July
And now they're scared of me
But who could blame them anyway
It's only natural
To distinguish between predator and prey
I think I don't know which am I
You know i think I don't know which am I
But if all goes well
You can marry, a southern man.
Remember love is real
Even if it doesnt work out like you planned
You can be happy in the end
To die surrounded by family and friends
But oh the sun was shining
All the stars were blue and white
All the good old boys are crying
It must be the fourth of July

I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250

Kansas City trio Flooding draw out the more mystical qualities of slowcore and noise rock for a heavy sound that's less stony than doom. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 26, 2023
Massive riffs and moribund themes power this aptly titled slab o' doom from Greek stoner metal outfit Seer of the Void. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 8, 2023
